Getting Ukulele Lessons

A ukulele has four strings, six strings or eight strings, depending on the style. There are many different styles of this instrument as well as shapes. Most of them play the same notes, such as the soprano ukulele which is the original instrument that was introduced in the United States. The baritone ukulele, which was introduced in the 1940s, is slightly different and plays lower notes.

Ukulele for sale  in uk Check your fretting by playing the A string on by itself. Does that note sound brightly? Is it muffled? Does it sound like it is in tune with your other strings?

The shape of the ukulele is typically like that of a small acoustic guitar, but other non-standard shapes which are seen include the oval shape (pineapple ukulele ), boat-paddle shape or square shape occasionally.

Once you buy a Ukulele, you're going to want to learn chords, and lots of them. Chords are simply multiple (typically 3 or more) notes being played simultaneously to produce a harmonious effect. You can learn chords by looking at ukulele chord charts, or simply by picking them up as you learn new songs. Both methods work fine. Once you know the chords, you don't even need Ukulele tabs to learn songs. You can simply look at guitar chords, and the chords will sound similar on the ukulele! Of course, the chords would be played differently, but that is where ukulele chord charts come in handy.

If you are feeling particularly lazy, you can strum all the strings open. This will give you a chord which can be seen in two ways. It can be a C6 chord or in can be an Am7 chord. Which of these chords it is depends on the context. The chord makes a great substitute for the C chord (when it is a C6) and for Am (when it is an Am7). So if you see either a C or an Am listed in a chord chart you can play all the strings open and it will give you a more jazzy sound. It will also give your fingers a rest!
